Bio/Profile: Sindhu BS is a US-trained psychotherapist and anacceptance and commitment therapy practitioner (ACT) working in Bangalore. Shehas a Master’s Degree in Rehabilitation Counseling from the US, and iscurrently in the last leg of her PsyD journey. Sindhu is hugely passionateabout mindfulness work, and founded the India ACT chapter in 2019. In herprivate practice, working majorly from the ACT & CFT approach, sheworks with anxiety and interpersonal issues, and strongly believes thatcompassionate-based approaches are remarkably effective for the Indian culturalcontext. Her recent written work includes contributing a chapter called“Mindfulness-Based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy”; for the comprehensive2022 publication named “Handbook of research on clinical applications ofmeditation and mindfulness-based interventions in mental health”

Webinar Topic: Compassion focused therapy: An introductory workshop
Synopsis: Compassion-focused therapy (CFT) is an evidence-basedpsychotherapeutic approach that helps people alleviate shame andself-criticism. Developed by Paul Gilbert, CFT draws upon thousands of years ofwisdom traditions that have used mindfulness, acceptance, and compassion as atool to transform lives and facilitate behaviour change. This workshop willhelp participants gain a better understanding of the CFT model and providestrategies to confidently administer CFT interventions.
