Yoga is widely accepted around theworld as personal practice for holistic wellbeing. Research has shown strongevidence on the stress ameliorating impact of yoga spanning differentpsychophysiological conditions. Yoga completely focus on understanding andtraining the “Mind” to reach ones optimal level of functioning(Efficiency inaction) and to lead a life of peace and harmony.(Equanimity).
The practices and processes of yoga are multifold integrates manytechniques. They aid to maintain, promote and achieve mental wellbeing. TheMind –body-spiritual practices embedded here, facilitates self empowerment,selfregulation and personal transformation.
Evidence support that insightful practices of yoga can be both be astand alone as well as a complementary therapy to maintain and promote mentalwellbeing.The current need is to apply the personalised practices to achievespecific goals in a systematic manner .Similar to psychotherapy process, yogais a process oriented therapy where the yoga therapist is a significant factorin the therapy process. The care seekers participation and insightful learningsare key to outcomes. The presentation will focus on the the therapeutic toolsof yoga and key processes which can have a transformative effect.
