Synopsis/Learningobjectives: This 60minutes experiential workshop will provide participants with the knowledge andtools to recognise, address, and overcome imposter syndrome in their own practices.This workshop is rooted in the restorative justice framework and values ofequity and intersectionality.
Learning Outcomes:
1. Identify the triggers and impacts ofimposter syndrome on yourself and your practice.
2. Develop sustainable strategies to cope with the costs of impostersyndrome.
3. Develop a model of self-reflection toseparate your professional self image from imposter syndrome
Topic Outline
Bimba Chavan is a counsellor, facilitator, and a Narrative
therapy practitioner. She has experienceworking with adolescents, young adults and families from diverse multiculturaland socio-economic backgrounds in Mumbai and Melbourne. She adopts a culturallysensitive and trauma-focused approach. In therapeutic conversations, she brings
reflections from her lived experiences of migration, and Indian culture. She adopts creative ways of expression to simplify entangled emotions and thoughts. Believing that people are the experts of their own lives, she encourages open dialogue to unpack and recognise this expertise. She is an accredited member of the Australian Counselling Association. Apart from clinical practice, she designs and develops mental wellbeing interventions for training teams and school communities, and has self-published a doodle journal for wellness informed by Narrative practices. Bimba speaks English, Hindi and Marathi.
