Rupa Parthasarathy
MINDKSHETRA (Rupa )
I am a Founder, Creative Arts Therapist on a mission. A mission to influence millions to make creative practices a part of their everyday well-being ritual. I lean on my decade of experience working within the diverse fast-paced corporate environment as a Lead Training Specialist and my experience of working with youth and collaborating with community organizations to inform and drive my mission. I specialize in providing culturally sensitive creative arts-based
psychoeducational and psychotherapeutic solutions to sustain individual, community and organizational wellbeing.
Topic Outline
Proposal: Arts Therapy is an emerging profession within Australia. Using creative play and art resources as a medium engages in the self-expression of emotions and feelings is the central tenet of this psychotherapy. Art Therapists help clients by re-establishing their creative flow and encouraging meaning-making, and processing of the client’s inner world using metaphors.
The objectives of this workshop include:
1) Introduce a range of directives through which participants can access creative play.
2) Demonstrate how tuning into creative play:
● Can help practice active mindfulness.
● Can prove beneficial in working with resistant or non-expressive clients.
● Can aid inworking within a diverse cross-cultural setting.
3) Experience the joy of engaging in collaborative art-making.
At the end of the workshop, the participants will walk-way with practical ways of tuning into creative play. Learn a new skill that can support a diverse demographic of clients.
No Art Making Experience is Required. Pencil and Paper will be required.
